Everything was magical, except for the flying ants on the top of the mountain that open attack on all visitors... so one advice, prepare for the insects attack by covering your skin with anti insects cream

Quite a climb but in ok condition you should be fine. A real must if you are in the area.

Had a great ride from Saint-Jacques-des-Blats on the other side of the mountain. The climb was good just a steep section that made you work. Thank goodness we weren't in the TDF we wouldn't have won that stage. At the top is a visitors center, restaurant and a path up to the top viewing point which is quite steep.

Far from mass tourism and crowd, did the climb from the Col de Serre in heavy snow conditions and another time in sunny spring ... a must do !

Great day out to do a bit of hiking. I was with my daughter, a proper teenager, who was reluctant initially but then had zero regrets as the views were spectacular. I will come back either for a longer trek or a long day cycling.
